Policy analyst of the People’s National Convention, Atik Mohammed says the output of President John Dramani Mahama is synonymous to that of outgoing President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He believes the variables and circumstances that influenced the recent election in Nigeria is similar to that of Ghana and “we should use to that determine the next general elections”.
Atik Mohammed is predicting the NDC will loose the 2016 election to PNC on two grounds; corruption and incompetence of government officials.
The PNC communicator stated on Asempa FM’s “Eko Sii Sen” political talk show that electorates in Nigeria voted against President Jonathan because of massive corruption in the country and Ghana like other West African countries should vote out President Mahama his NDC for the same reason.
“The wind of change is blowing in West Africa …and what happened in Nigeria is likely to also repeat in Ghana”.
Many Ghanaians including leading members of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) have compared issues in Nigeria to Ghana to the extent of concluding a possible defeat for the ruling NDC in 2016.
“Both President Mahama and President Jonathan are best friends, both were vice and succeeded Late Presidents, both have the same party colours …more and more”.
Meanwhile, government says it has drawn lessons from the Nigeria’s election which saw the incumbent loose to his contender, President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari and will not take Ghanaian voters for granted.
