Mahama condemns brutal attacks on Cote D’Iviore, Turkey

john-mahamaPresident John Mahama has condemned the attacks on Cote D’Iviore and Turkey in which at least 16 people have died.

In a statement, the President described as despicable the terrorists’ attacks on the two countries Sunday.

Whilst the terrorists struck in Cote d’Ivoire at their Grand Bassam beach resort, the attacks in Turkey occurred at the Kizilay district.

President Mahama has expressed Ghana’s deepest condolences and sympathy to President Alassane Ouattara of Cote d’Ivoire and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, their governments and the people.

The President also urged all to work together as a global community to win the war against terrorism.

Meanwhile, the BBC reports that Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has claimed responsibility for the attack on Cote D’Iviore.
