Manhyia North MP takes Parliament closer to Duase residents, interacts and takes concerns

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah last Sunday under the auspices of the Committee on Government Assurance took parliamentary work closer to the people of Duase, a community within the constituency.

Explaining the workings of the Assurance Committee of which he chairs in Parliament, the legislator said his outfit ensures that ministers, MPS and government in totality deliver on their mandates.

He also revealed that the Committee also evaluates and ensures that these bodies deliver on the promises they make to the citizenry.

The youthful MP noted that as Chairman of the Committe he would ensure all promises made by government as well as MPs and ministers are fulfilled so as to get the needed development to the people.

”As I stand before you today be assured that as your MP and the chairman of the Assurance Committee all promises made to you by government and myself are fulfilled to make you benefit from the governance process”, the MP noted to rapturous applause.

PROJECTS:
Enumerating some of the projects he has commenced and carried out, Hon Amankwah noted the provision of dual and mono desks to the Duase Primary and JHS school.

The MP revealed that a personal cash of GHC 10.000.00 was released to deal with the heap of refuse at the Duase site recently.

He also reminded residents of the provision of 10 household toilets for the community, a project he has recently lobbied to deal with the unavailability of such facilities in the community.

In the area of security and job opportunities, Hon Amankwah noted the provision of street lights and bulbs to the Assembly man for all the suburbs in the community and added that many of the youth in the area who qualified to be enrolled in the afforestaion module as well as NABCO and the security agencies have all had their turns to get placement.

”I am committed to building a prosperous constituency and the people of Duase will continue to benefit from the projects and programs this government bring across”, the MP noted to wild cheers from residents.

OPEN FORUM:
Kingsley Agyenim, a 40 year unemployed man commended the MP for the various initiatives in the community.

He however wondered why the assemblyman for the area had kept them in the dark about recent job recruiting programs.

Madam Oforiwaa Amponsah, a trader and resident asked the MP to assist many of her likes whose wards want admission to midwifery and nursing training colleges.

A young man, with nickname ‘Shatta Wale’, asked how those who had no formal education could get jobs to do.

RESPONSES:
The MP having taken down the concerns of the residents promised to liaise with the Assembly man of the area and assist them with support.

He urged residents to furnish his office with issues they are unclear about and seek redress.
