The Manhyia palace of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is calling on the media to be circumspect in reportage involving the King and the palace.
Manhyia has said it will not tolerate any false reportage in the media that tarnish the image of the Ashanti Kingdom and the King.
Manhyia is however calling for the media to be a development partner in the Ashanti Kingdom as the current occupant Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II celebrates 15 years of his ascendency to the Golden stool.
According to the Secretary at Manhyia; Collins Adusie, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has shown a development-oriented leadership that is progressive.
Collins Adusie expressed the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s heartfelt gratitude for the support given him during his 15 years reign so far and called for continued support to develop Asanteman.
As part of the 15th anniversary celebration of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II , the Manhyia Palace will hold Muslim prayers this Friday and an Inter-denominational church service at the Dwaberem at Manhyia Palace on April 26, 2014. There will also a 15th anniversary Golf Tournament, sod cutting ceremony of a proposed Osei Tutu II University College at the old site of the Kumasi Brewery Limited, at Asokwa in Kumasi.
