Chiefs at the Manhyia palace say the palace is the biggest and second to none.
The chiefs who spoke at a meeting with the media in Kumasi encouraged the media to highlight the rich historical and cultural heritage the palace represents.
The chiefs emphasized the wealth in terms of gold and other natural resources as well as the rich culture signified by the gold stool and concluded there is no palace in the world comparable to Manhyia.
They were visibly worried about bad press from some faceless journalists on the internet.
The chiefs also used the meeting to correct journalists and broadcasters for wrong Akan expressions used especially on radio and promised to organize seminars to enhance the knowledge of the local media regarding the culture and history of Asanteman.
Regional Chair of the Ghana Journalists Association, Listowell Yesu Bukarson expressed the commitment of the media to project the traditional values of Asanteman.
