Manu praises father for blossoming career

Elvis ManuDutch striker of Ghanaian heritage Elvis Manu has praised his father for his upbringing and helping him to the top of his football career.

The 21-year-old, who has stated his desire to play for Ghana albeit earning a call-up in the Dutch Under-21 last week, has been on fire for Feyenoord Rotterdam since returning on loan from Cambuur.

“My father did everything possible for me and the family, at one point he even had two jobs, I hardly saw him as he was always working to make life better for us,” Manu told the Feyenoord Blog.

“And the little bit of what my parents had they put it down for me, I will never forget.”

Manu was born to Ghanaian parents in the Dutch city of Dordrecht and has always stated he feels Ghanaian.
