Napo Seeks 5th Term In Parliament…Files Nomination Forms on First Day.
Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh on Wednesday and in line with the dictates of the NPP constitution filed his nomination papers at the NPP Manhyia South Constituency office to contest in the party’s upcoming primaries for constituencies with sitting MPs.
This would be the fifth time the celebrated MP would be seeking to lead the NPP in the constituency as it readies itself for the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to party members after filing, Dr Napo expressed his appreciation to the rank and file of the NPP in the constituency for their unflinching support.
“Since my debut unto the political scene of the constituency in 2008 andthrough your immense support, we have collectively achieved so much for our party and the constituency. However, I believe that, there is still more to do and so, have decided to avail myself, yet again, to the service of you, my people”, Dr Napo stated.
Virtues:
Dr Napo who is current Minister of Energy said, “Service, Sacrifice and Selflessness continue to remain my cardinal pillars as a politician”.
He noted that, ”my performance as Member of Parliament, in all modesty, is a matter of public record and thus, will continue to work fervently to increase the fortunes of the party in the constituency”.
The legislator also promised to work hard and fully support the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he seeks to lead the Nation in the 2024 General elections.
The MP committed to fully abide by the democratic tenets of the party in its internal exercise, adding that he has no doubt that Manhyia South constituency will once again rise to the occasion to deepen the attractiveness of the NPP.
