GHANAIAN MEDIA DESERVE PLAUDITS FOR ROLES—–ASHANTI NPP ORGANISER.
Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended the Ghanaian media for shaping discussions around the country’s development.
According to him, the various talk shows and platforms they offer to government appointees, civil society organisations and people in accountable positions have largely contributed to the shaping of the country’s democracy and governance.
Delivering some tokens of kindness to the media ahead of the Christmas holidays, Mr Adomako said Ghana has become a beacon of peace because its media have continually thrown light on all manner of issues that threaten its democracy.
“Ghana may not be better than every country in the world but we have been privileged to have a media that plays up issues that threaten our very existence so that we can collectively discuss and shame evil doers and praise positive thinkers”, Mr Adomako posited.
ECONOMY:
Mr Adomako mentioned that many economic issues have been addressed because the media brought light on them.
He stated that matters affecting growth of businesses, either individual or corporate have gotten attention because the media chose to focus its attention on same.
Many industries as well as small scale enterprises have had some form of cushioning from government, especially during the Covid-19 outbreak because the media brought the challenges to light.
“When Covid-19 broke out and with many businesses collapsing due to the effect of the disease on Ghana’s economy, many dreaded the sustenance of small and medium scale enterprises but in all these the media identified the challenges and with government responding to the issues most businesses are back on their feet now”, Mr Adomako intimated.
SUPPORT TO NPP:
The Regional Organiser particularly thanked the media for bringing light on matters and activities within the NPP.
This, he said has made the party more visible and attractive to the Ghanaian public.
He commended the media in Ashanti for supporting the NPP in disseminating timely information to the public and for offering their platforms to engage its members in government in discussing issues of national development.
“I am particularly grateful that the media offers me free airtime to discuss matters of national development and extend same to government appointees and others like civil society organisations to shape the country’s democracy by allowing us to discuss the issues that affect our people, our country and its economy”, Mr Adomako said.
