With barely 4 days yo the Redbull Street Style Challenge, the show just got a refreshing twist to it as Ghana’s finest hypeman; Merqury Quaye has been signed on to host the competition slated to hold at the Accra Mall this Saturday, September 19.
The revered Radio/TV presenter and MC whose 2010 State of the Republic concert breakout performance with top Jamaican singer; Mz Trinity earned him the accolade ‘Ghana’s Finest Hypeman’.
Merqury Quaye also hosted the Coca-Cola Open Happiness Tour in 2012, Nescafe Hot Mug Festival, Milo Marathon Finish Line Jam and the recently held 2014 Fashion Icon Awards which he co-hosted with Chriskata.
The Redbull Street Style competition is an event of a kind as many street soccer pundits have described it and fun watching 2 players battle each other in a fierce freestyle soccer tricks in their unique way.
Most of the players are poised to unseat the two national championships, Bright Amoako Danquah and Joel Asare knowing what is at stake as the winner will represent Ghana in Brazil this time round on September 19 at the Accra Mall.
With performances from Ghana’s top Dancehall act, Stonebwoy, an array of skillful DJs and ultimately skilled soccer talents drawn from across the country on deck, there’s certainly plenty of material to work with to make the event one you would shoot yourself if you missed”Merqury says.
The Red Bull Street Style competition is a world tournament which brings all the best soccer freestylers under one umbrella to compete for the best.
The competition first took place in Brazil 2008 and Ghana’s first participation was in 2012 in Italy.
