Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA); Sulemana Braimah says he will henceforth take utterances from NDC’s Communication Officer with a pinch of salt.
Sulemana Braimah who was speaking on weekend News analysis programme Newsfile accused Sammy Gyamfi of being willing to do propaganda with every matter. He was surprised at the insistence of the NDC Communications officer that the infamous leaked audio involving the National Chairman of the largest Opposition party; the NDC, was a doctored tape.
Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Sammy Gyamfi, came out earlier this week to say that an audio recording circulating purported to be the voice of his party Chairman, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo has been doctored.
The tape is purported to be the voice of NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo in a meeting with party communicators planning to unleash attacks on key personalities in Ghana including the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa and the National Peace Council boss.
Sammy Gyamfi also alleged that the NPP with the help of state security have planted secret recording devices in some offices at their head office to monitor their proceedings.
Mr. Braimah however cast doubt on the possibility of the audio being doctored.
Mr. Braimah said he was not surprised about the content of the audio, explaining that their engagement with the political parties has made him aware that Ghanaian politics is not about ideas but rather manpower and muscle.
He said the NPP whilst in opposition attacked then EC Charlotte Osei viciously and hence it was not out of place to expect the NDC to do same. He said however that he is surprised at the NPP’s reaction with some asking for the resignation of Mr. Ofosu Ampofo.
