According to our source within the constituency secretariat of the party, a crisis management meeting was organised to unravel the loggerhead between the MP, the District Chief Executive of Wassa Amenfi East District, Mr Stephen Bedu Achemapong and the constituency chairman.
The aggrieved youth are said to have emerged from their seats and stormed the high table to physically attack the Minister and pushed him out of the meeting.
The source indicated further that, the swift intervention of some few members was what helped the Minister to escape.
“The current outcry is not just about the fact that the majority of the constituency executives are highly disappointed in the minister but his actions are sending bad signals to the entire party, a situation that has caused some of the supporters to cross carpet to the camps of their main opposition, the New Patriotic Party” the source disclosed.
A staunch executive member of the NDC in the constituency who spoke to the Daily Searchlight on conditions of anonymity disclosed that, the MP has refused to work with the DCE and the constituency chairman, case which has resulted in low level of development in the area.
The youth who have threatened to make life unbearable for the Minister has vowed to make the party unpopular in the constituency if the national executives fail to intervene to resolve the situation.
