The ballistic nature of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, went into overdrive on Friday when he accused Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr. Richard Anane, former Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Kufuor administration and the former Minister of Health respectively, of plotting to “poison Nana Addo in the event that he becomes President of the Republic of Ghana.”
He accused the two of masterminding the rising tensions in the opposition party and labeled them as wicked.
According to him, the two (Mpiani and Anane) are behind the unpopular administrative actions being executed by the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong. He expressed his disappointment in Mr Agyapong for his unilateral actions that incurred the wrath of some NPP members.
Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Ken Agyapong disclosed that there are four leading NPP members, including Mr. Mpiani and Richard Anane, who have sworn to destroy Nana Addo’s Presidential ambition and have evil intentions against the 2012 flagbearer, but “he (Mpiani) is not God, so their wish will never become a reality.”
Whiles declining to name the identities of the other two of the four NPP stalwarts planning against Nana Addo, he however revealed that one is from the Ashanti Region and the other from the Volta Region.
The Assin Central MP opened a can of worms when he alleged that Kwadwo Mpiani, Dr. Anane and the other two NPP bigwigs have schemed to poison Nana Addo in the event that he becomes President of Ghana and disrespect Ashantis.
“Those who are pushing Kwabena Agyapong, especially Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr. Anane, to do all those disgraceful things in the party should be careful…I am ashamed (that) Kwabena Agyapong is doing the bidding of Kwadwo Mpiani despite the resources I spent to campaign for him to become General Secretary…Arthur Kennedy should redirect his attacks to Kwadwo Mpiani because he is the wicked man destroying the party and not Nana Addo.
“I have mentioned Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr. Anane as masterminding the chaos in NPP in order to stop Nana Addo from becoming President of Ghana; they have sworn on their lives that Nana Addo will not be President. They are four, but I am withholding two for now and even with those two leading members, one from Ashanti Region and the other from Volta Region, sat down and discussed that they will poison Nana Addo in the event that he becomes President of Ghana and disrespects Ashantis…,” he alleged.
Reacting to claims by Dr Arthur Kennedy, former Director of Communications for Nana Addo’s 2008 Campaign, that recent acts of hooliganism within the elephant fraternity are organized, inspired and motivated by and on behalf of the two-time Presidential Candidate, the outspoken NPP MP cautioned Dr. Kennedy to be mindful of his “nonsense” utterances.
“….Arthur Kennedy is not privy to the happenings in NPP, but he is writing nonsense that Nana Addo is destroying the party; but I want to tell him it is rather Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr. Anane destroying NPP,” he accused.
