Founder of Salt and Light ministries; Rev. Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee has spoken up against the new social media trend of using abusive language against the leaders of the nation.
Rev. Dr. Aryee, who was the guest at the MTN Bright Conversations hosted as part of the telco’s 25th Anniversary celebrations was answering a question regarding the modus operandi of a social media activist known as Twene Jonas. Mr. Twene Jonas, a Ghanaian living in the United States of America sounds passionate about the development of Ghana but is criticized for his abusive language.
The former politician and Business Executive however insisted that the use of insults is a sign of a bad communicator. “No one has the right to insult anyone; it shows you are not a good communicator. I don’t think it’s right” she stressed.
Dr. Joyce Aryee also used the opportunity to advise public sector workers to shun corruption. “Accepting envelopes in order to do the work for which you are being paid is not a good thing” she advised and warned against the tendency by public servants to delay things unnecessarily. “Let’s have a sense of urgency in the public service. Within the seven hours spent in the office, you should be able to achieve a lot. Set personal goals. Do not sit on things or delay things unnecessarily” she stressed.
She praised MTN for their contributions to national discourse and development.
