Ghana’s leading telecommunications provider, MTN Ghana, says all is set for the celebration of Ashantifest.
The festival since its inception has seen various life enriching activations including the provision of CSI projects, sports and entertainment have been brought to the doorstep of several communities in the region to help transform lives.
Officials of MTN tell rawgist.com that Ashantifest 2016 will involve several days of targeted events, activations and consumer engagements.
One of the major activities for this year is the Asantehene’s Gold Cup which started yesterday and is expected to end on 8th May in honor of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. This unique event has consistently featured in Ashantifest celebrations over the years.
Some of the activities planned for the celebration include Sponsorship of SME Business Fair, Community Forum, Health and Fitness Walk, MTN Open Coffee Series, Data/Value Added Services Clinics, Mobile Money Merchant Forum and Media Editors/Stakeholders forum. MTN will also organize some entertainment activities during the celebrations.
General Manager for the Ashanti region Mr James Bukari Basintale said, “the festival is meant to bring us closer to the people of the Ashanti region and to show that we are committed to brightening the lives of our customers in that region. “At MTN, our customers come first in all that we do and this is why we created the regional festivals to bring us closer to our subscribers”.
Ashanti Fest is one of the several regional festivals designed by MTN across the country to acknowledge and promote the rich culture of the communities in which we operate. It is held in appreciation of the continuous support of the region to the growth of the MTN. Other MTN initiated regional festivals include: Koftownfest (Eastern Region) Suncity fest (Brong Ahafo Region), Oil City fest (Western Region) and Savanna fest (for the three Northern Regions).
