MTN Ghana on boxing day donated 500 hampers to babies born on Christmas day throughout Ghana.
In Kumasi, 50 hampers were shared amongst babies born at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Suntreso and Kumasi South Hospitals.
At the Komfo Anokye Hospital, Mrs. Fuseina Haruna; a staff nurse, encouraged pregnant women who have been referred to the hospital to show up so that they can be adequately treated for a safe delivery. She complained that many pregnant women with preeclampsia stay home till the condition becomes extreme before rushing to the hospital; a situation she says could easily lead to the loss of either mother or child.
MTN Ghana has been donating hampers to Christmas babies for over a decade as part of efforts to put smiles on the faces of the mothers during the Christmas festivities.
Presenting the items, Mr. Godfred Kwarteng; Manager for Fixed Band Services at MTN Northern Sector said MTN Ghana will continue to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians in every way possible.
The mothers were grateful for the gesture and appealed to MTN Ghana to continue to give to support mothers and their newborns.
