MTN engages stakeholders and customers at Ejura as part of Ashantifest

mtn-forumLeading telco; MTN Friday took residents of Ejura Sekyedumase through some lessons on its operations, products and services at a stakeholders forum.

The over 200 participants were taken through the various promotions, shortcodes and technical issues. They were also taken through Mobile Money fraud detection techniques. The Participants included teachers, students, traders, Policemen, fire personnel, religious leaders, community leaders, MTN Mobile Money merchants and agents.

Northern Sector Mobile Money General Manager Mr. Stephen Asare dissuaded customers from using PINs that are easy to predict since it opens them up to fraudsters. He also advised them to confirm messages mtn-forum1that suggests they have won promotions at the nearest MTN office to avoid falling prey to fraudsters.

Corporate Affairs Manager of MTN Northern Business District, Mrs. Charity Darko highlighted MTN’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects in areas such as Education, Health and Empowerment against poverty. In all she mentioned close to two hundred projects and adds that many more project proposals are being received and vetted every quarter all in an effort to provide relief to distressed people and recognized groups of people.

Municipal Chief Executive for the area; Hon. Braimah Bawah was excited that MTN’s mobile Money has reduced armed robberies on the mtn-forum2Ejura road and encouraged many more traders there to take advantage of the services. He however calls on MTN to make their mtn-MMManagerpresence felt in the area by helping to put up
some relevant infrastructure which will directly impact the lives of the people.

Participants at the forum asked several questions bothering mostly on MTN’s Mobile Money Services and fraud prevention.

Executives of MTN promised to resolve their issues with speed and promised that residents would soon have access to MTN’s 4G network to help improve internet speed for quick downloads.
