Scores of customers, workers and staff of mobile giant, MTN-Ghana over the weekend walked through the principal streets of Kumasi in the company’s annual health walk called ‘walkathon’.
The health walk formed part of the month long celebration of MTN subscriber activations and projects in the Ashanti Region which is popularly called Ashantifest .
A rigorous medical screening was conducted for patrons at the end of the exercise as scores tested to know their health status.
Others tested to know their sugar and blood pressure levels.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Mr James Bukari Basintale, General Manager for MTN-Northern Business District noted the importance of holding such a health exercise.
He stressed healthy minds resided in healthy bodies.
Mr Basintale therefore intimated the need for the public to periodically exercise their bodies to shake off the excess fat built up over time.
Many, he disclosed have bad eating habits based upon the kind of job they do and the time they expend at their workplaces.
These people, he noted needed to periodically take advantage of such health exercises to shed off excess fat and fluids in their bodies.
Mr Charles Osei Akoto, Technical Head, MTN-Northern Business District emphasized the need for corporate workers to periodically visit the clinic for a check on their health status.
He expressed the commitment of the staff to take part in such exercises so as to remain healthy to attend to their routine duties.
