MTN-Ghana is determined to do all what is possible to ensure the safety of her Mobile Money Agents.
This commitment to the safety and security of MTN Mobile Money agents was re-echoed during an awards ceremony held to honor hardworking MTN Mobile Money Agents within MTN’s Northern Business District.
MTN’s General Manager for Mobile Financial Services; Mr. Eli Hini revealed that MTN is working closely with Police and Insurance companies to help mitigate risks to agents. He also revealed that an agents’ registry is being worked on in partnership with the Bank of Ghana whiles a forensic laboratory is also being set up in partnership with the Ghana Police Service as part of efforts to secure investments of Agents.
He also advised the Agents to close early, safeguard their phones and PIN, avoid unnecessary calls and also secure their outlets in order to reduce the risk of being robbed.
Mr. Hini also cautioned Agents to pay attention when recruiting handlers since it has been observed that these employees many times connive with robbers to effect robberies on Mobile Money Agents.
MTN Ghana gave out a Hyundai i10 Salon car to 63 year-old Kwadwo Adu Gyamfi of KAYAD Company Limited in Kumasi who was the overall winner.
Others got motor bikes, flat screen television sets, Smartphones as well as certificates.
Some of the award winners ghanagong.com spoke to expressed gratitude to MTN-Ghana for recognizing their hardwork and vowed to win the overall prize next year.
