Ghana News-Scores of youth, including customers and workers of MTN-Ghana in the Kumasi metropolis over the weekend had the opportunity to test and get treatment for ailments they were suffering from during a medical screening exercise organized by the telecom company.
Having participated in an early dawn walk which formed part of the month long celebration (Ashanti-Fest) by MTN in the Ashanti Region, patrons took time to test for high blood pressure, diabetes and malaria.
Thronging the forecourt of the Kumasi Sports Stadium for the opportunity to test to know their health status, the huge numbers also took part in the aerobic session of the walk.

Speaking to this reporter, some of the patrons commended MTN for the walk and screening exercise and urged them to replicate it every year.
Others, who were treated for ailments they did not know, thanked the medical team for the care and counsel.
Mr Amoah Mensah, a 43 year old trader expressed happiness for knowing his health status and noted his desire to test regularly for sugar and blood pressure.
Ama Nkansah, a 25 year old seamstress, noted her delight to be able to walk and get medical care.

Mr Charles Osei-Akoto, Head of Technical Services, MTN-Northern Business District (NBD) expressed delight at the interest shown by the youth to walk and keep fit.
According to him, the health of a person is his or her wealth and urged the populace to engage in daily exercises to keep their bodies in shape.
MTN, Mr Akoto noted was committed to using this annual Ashanti-fest program to engage its customers and patrons in worthwhile ventures.
He urged MTN customers as well as workers to find a way to inculcate health exercise in their weekly schedules so as to ensure they are fit for the work they do.
