Ghana’s largest telecommunications company; MTN launched her weeklong Ashantifest celebrations on Thursday with the promise of a unique celebration.
The 25th Anniversary edition of the MTN festival is expected to drum home the fact that MTN is still committed to enhancing customer experience. To this end, MTN is committing an amount of USD207 million into the network this year to expand, modernize and provide a resilient network.
Speaking at the launch held at the MTN premises at Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, the General Manager of MTN’s
Northern Business District; Nii Adotey Mingle promised a unique celebration and a great opportunity for MTN to further deepen her relationship with stakeholders in the region. He revealed that this year marks the 11th anniversary of Ashantifest and 25 years of Scancom Ltd.
He hinted that as part of the celebration, there will be a community football gala comprising Asafo, Kotei-Deduako, Fante Newtown, Tech, Abrepo, Bantama, Dichemso and Asokore Mampong on Saturday 18th and Sunday, 19th September 2021 at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi. “The finals will be streamed live on all of MTN’s official handles and is expected to generate a lot of excitement and participation” he said and added that there will be a data offer package of an additional 500MB for every data purchased for anyone in the Ashanti region during this period.
He added that there will be other events including a the 25th anniversary Golf tournament on 25th September, 2021, a Media Editors forum, community forum, commemoration of International Literacy Day and a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Nii Adotey Mingle further revealed that many promotions are being run as part of the anniversary celebrations. “Our top 250 customers have already received the latest phone on the market. All MTN customers benefited from the Good day Ghana promo and our mega promo which will reward 25 customers with 25 brand new Hyundai Sonata cars is still ongoing” he further revealed and encouraged the people of the Ashanti region to participate. He however appealed to customers to be mindful of scammers who use all sorts of tricks to lure and dupe them.
He concluded by advising the people of the region to remain mindful of the COVID-19 pandemic and adhere to the prevention protocols.
