Telecommunications operator; MTN Saturday held a health walk and health screening exercise for residents of Kumasi in the Ashanti region. The Walkathon, which saw several excited young people walking, dancing and having fun formed part of MTN’s AshantiFest celebrations.
Staff of MTN as well as health conscious residents of the Ashanti regional Capital all clad in yellow MTN shirts walked from the MTN main office at Nhyiaeso through KMA, Aseda House, Asafo Market, Amakom through to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium where other aerobic activities were undertaken along with the health screening exercise.
The participants also had the opportunity to do a free total health check for conditions including blood sugar levels, Body Mass Indices, Blood Pressures among several other conditions.
The AshantiFest celebration was opened with the Otumfuo Gold golf tournament, and has since seen a business fair, stakeholder forum, Media Editors’ forum along with many activations.
General Manager MTN Northern Business District, James Bukari Basintale expressed satisfaction regarding the event and told rawgist.com that MTN seeks to touch every aspect of customers’ lives hence the numerous activities being set out as part of the celebrations.
“It is all aimed at celebrating people and making life more meaningful for them”. He stressed that the celebration has remained very relevant since its inception.
Mr. Basintale also stated that the celebration has and will continue to impact the company’s revenues positively.
