The Centre for Progressive Governance (CenProG), is asking the Ghana Police Service to step in and investigate certain high ranking members of the New Patriotic Party in relation to the murder.
A press statement released by the group on 8th May, 2017 observed that audio and media reportage of utterances by Northern regional Chairman of the NPP is quite disturbing.
“CenProG noted rather sadly that in the said interview, Mr Bugri Naabu aside various allegations of abuse of power by appointees of the current regime went further to state categorically that key elements in the current Government played very active roles in the gruesome murder of Adams Mahama, the late Upper East Chairman.”
“Chairman Naabu named Rockson Bukari, Upper East Regional Minister and Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender and Social Protection as having participated actively in the planning and execution of the acid bath on the late Adams Mahama for reasons best known only to them.”
CenProG believes these allegations cannot be left unattended and wants the IGP to rope in these personalities as far as the investigations into Adams Mahama’s death is concerned.

CENTER FOR PROGRESSIVE GOVERNANCE (CenProG)
THE IGP MUST INVESTIGATE THE COMPLICITY OR OTHERWISE OF MADAM OTIKO ET AL IN THE MURDER OF ADAMS MAHAMA
The Center for Progressive Governance (CenProG) has taken note of a very disturbing audio interview, and media reportage of same, by the Northern Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriot Party, Bugri Naabu.
CenProG noted rather sadly that in the said interview, Mr Bugri Naabu aside various allegations of abuse of power by appointees of the current regime went further to state categorically that key elements in the current Government played very active roles in the gruesome murder of Adams Mahama, the late Upper East Chairman.
Chairman Naabu named Rockson Bukari, Upper East Regional Minister and Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender and Social Protection as having participated actively in the planning and execution of the acid bath on the late Adams Mahama for reasons best known only to them.
It is on the backdrop of these claims that CenProG calls on the IGP to as a matter of urgency invite Chairman Naabu and the appointees he named to assist in bringing justice to the family of Adams Mahama.
It is said that there is an iota of truth in every rumour, however CenProG believes that this rumour has more than just an iota of truth coming especially from a man who is on record to have rejected a V8 and a huge amount of money as bribe.
Coming at a time when citizens have been left in a state of insecurity amidst the uncertainty surrounding the death of a former MP, J B Danquah, the Ghana Police Service owes it a duty to Ghanaians to work hard to assure us of our security and CenProG believes that bringing a closure to the murder of Adams Mahama especially with the help of whistle blower Bugri Naabu, will be a reassuring step for Ghanaians.
CenProG assures the Ghanaian public that we will follow this matter to its logical conclusion and will by this release call on the IGP to initiate the necessary steps to establish the complicity or otherwise of both the Gender and Upper East Regional Minister so that the law will take its course.
God Bless our homeland Ghana and make it GREAT and STRONG.
