Ghana Religion News-A Regional Dawa workshop aimed at eradicating Quranic illiteracy among Muslim clerics, Imams and preachers has been held at Asankrangwa in the Western Region.
About 200 Pillars of Islamic religious development from the Western and Central Regions converged at the Amenfi West Municipal Capital, to deliberate on modern ways of spreading the Islamic religion throughout the country.
In a welcome address, Islamic preacher, Sheikh Ahmed Opoku Nsiah, enjoined all Imams and Muslim preachers to educate themselves with Information Communication Technology (ICT) and evolve practical ways of interpreting the Quran towards winning new converts for Allah.
Representing the Islamic Research and Dawah Network International, Sheikh Opoku Nsiah expressed his outfit’s commitment to quality religious research and interpretation by funding several fora at national and international levels towards building the capacity of muslim preachers and supporting them in their course of winning more Islamic converts.
Delivering a lecture, Sheikh Suleman Muzu, Regional Chief Imam for the Al-Suna muslim sect, stressed the importance of quality leadership in mosque administration and urged participants to be role models in society. He encouraged the formation of muslim preacher networks to aid knowledge sharing for effective evangelism by all muslims.
“The dignity of this great religion lies on the shoulders of the Daiya of Islamic preacher, the engine of Islam who must be sincere, knowledgeable, and patient and be abreast with the realities of modern times”, Sheikh Muzu pointed out.
Referring to The patience of Prophet Mohammed at the Treaty of Alhudaibiyah, Sheikh Muzu submitted that those who have faith and are righteous must join in the mutul teachings of truth and constant Patience as Ambassadors and messengers of Allah and fulfil their mandate with dignity. He enjoined participants eschew selfishness and seek divine support and protection for their congregants.
