Solomon Nkansah, the newly-elected Propaganda Secretary now Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that his perceived enemies at the party’s national delegates’ congress in Kumasi collapsed at the congress grounds when they heard he had won the position.
“My enemies collapsed at the national congress and I had to revive some of them,” the former deputy propaganda secretary of the NDC claimed.
It has emerged that majority of the NDC delegates from the Western Region who took part in the party’s national congress in Kumasi campaigned against the former regional youth organiser when he was vying for the position of the communication officer of the NDC.
Notable among them was Youknows Mohammed, the current Western Regional Youth Organiser of the party, who had vowed to make sure that Solomon Nkansah did not win the position he contested.
Even though those alleged detractors of Solomon Nkansah did not explain their action, Daily Guide has gathered that some of the NDC activists in the region considered Solomon Nkansah as an arrogant person.
Reacting to the issue on Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, Solomon Nkansah attributed his victory to the work of the Almighty God.
He noted that he was aware that prior to the congress some of the Western regional executives of the NDC wanted to see him lose the election but he was not perturbed.
According to the NDC communication officer, he had the conviction that despite the opposition from his home region, he was going to win and implored his followers not to react to any provocation.
He alleged that some of the regional NDC executives, apart from opposing him, also engaged the services of some ladies to move to the delegates to convince them to vote against him.
According to Solomon Nkansah, some NDC activists in the region were accusing him of amassing wealth to the neglect of some party members within the period he was the deputy propaganda secretary.
“They are accusing me of owning a filling station at Bakaekyir near Sekondi and also building a mansion, which are not true.
I’m shocked up till now the owner of the filling station is also not coming out,” he indicated.
Solomon Nkansah pointed out that immediately his name was mentioned as having won the communication officer position, the congress grounds became silent because many of the delegates did not believe he could win.
He, however, indicated that now that the election was over, he was ready to welcome everybody including ‘enemies’ and work together with all so that the party could retain power in 2016.
