Namibia has asked Ghana for technical support in the area of youth development.
A delegation from the committee on Gender, Youth and Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Namibia’s Parliament said they have followed keenly Ghana’s progress in gender and ICT and want to understudy to scale up and improve the socio-economic fortunes of their youth.
Member of Parliament from Namibia who led the team, Nangula Joyce Namuhuja revealed this in a meeting with the National Youth Authority (NYA) in Accra.
She noted that, Ghana has made significant strides in youth development had become an example of other countries in African thus there was a lot Namibia could emulate.
The move, Madam Namuhuja noted is for Namibia to achieve the 2063 goal set by the African Union for member countries adhere to a comprehensive development work plan for its youth.
She added that, Ghana has now become the benchmark when it comes to Gender, Youth and ICT hence their visit.
For his part, the Deputy Chief Executive officer of the National Youth Authority, Bright Acheampong was elated their hard work has been recognized by Namibia.
He said they are ready to share ideas to ensure both Ghana and Namibia surge forward in youth development.
“There is an African Union with an agenda 2063 so once we are able to share notes and iron out the differences we will be able to move forward.”
Bright Acheampong said such collaborations should spur the two countries to develop stronger ties and explore several areas of co-operation for their mutual benefit.
