Former Deputy Ashanti regional minister; Joseph Yammin says Ghana’s President is corrupt.
Many have tagged former President John Mahama with corruption; possibly one of the reasons he was kicked out in the last elections and replaced with Nana Akufo Addo, who people believe is not corrupt.
Joseph Yammin however says allegations of corruption against former President Mahama had no bases whatsoever and says President Akufo Addo is rather corrupt.
“The adult who supervises the killing and eating of a snake by younger folk is counted as a snake eater himself” Yammin said in an interview with rawgist.com editor; Bernard Buachi.
He says though the President himself has not committed any corrupt act that is known to him, his generals continue to indulge in corruption under his watch. “All he does is to clear them and rescue them from the law after they have participated in acts of corruption. Hence by extension, the President cannot absolve himself of corruption” he insisted.
He said a lot of corruption went on in 2018 which were left unresolved and in some cases covered and suggested that “the special prosecutor has been made useless because when activated, many of the functionaries of the current government would have been in jail”.
