Founder and Leader of the All Peoples’ Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga has called out President Nana Akufo Addo over the nuisance being caused by vigilante groups in the country.
He says “Nana Addo is the leader of the vigilante groups in this country”.
Hassan Ayariga who was speaking on Accra Fm Thursday morning asked; ” who is the leader of the vigilante groups?”. He answered saying “Nana Addo is the leader of the vigilante groups, are you not aware? I am telling you and I’m not afraid to say it because he is the leader of the NPP.”
He explains that as leader of his party, the onus lies on the President to find jobs for members of these vigilante groups and then disband them.
“As President, he is the leader of all security agencies in the country. He is the commander in chief of the Armed Forces. So if you as the leader cannot just control just a fraction of his party; Vigilante groups, and he is calling on Ghanaians to help him, then he has no leadership qualities anymore”, Mr. Ayariga said.
Some vigilante groups believed to have helped the New Patriotic Party during their quest to win the last elections have continued to solidify their front and interfered in many affairs of the state; a situation that has remained a dent on the leadership of the NPP.
Hassan Ayariga says if the President doesn’t find them jobs and disband them, investors will not feel safe investing in this country. He believes people are living in fear and cannot voice out issues that are going wrong as a result of the fear being propagated by vigilante groups largely believed to be offshoots of the NPP.
Mr. Ayariga also took jabs at the recently presented 2018 Budget calling it “Azonto budget”.
