Kobina Amo-Aidoo, Deputy Youth Organiser for the NPP branch in the People’s Republic of China says the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appeals best to the Ghanaian electorate in the area of policy formulation and employment creation.
In a chat with the Ghanaian Observer newspaper in Kumasi over the weekend, Mr Amo-Aidoo said with the creation of the Nationa Builders corps (NABCo) program the President demonstrated to the youth his heart for them.
NABCo, the deputy youth organiser posited has since its establishment helped to create job opportunities for 100, 000 youth.
The one district one factory (1D1F) as well as one village one dam policies, Mr Amo-Aidoo noted has also increased the rate at which the youth got jobs in the country.
“With the youth knowing what both the NDC and NPP represent in terms of job creation I am sure they would vote for Nana Addo who appeals best to them”, Mr Amo-Aidoo posited.
OTHER INITIATIVES:
Mr Amo-Aidoo disclosed that the planting for food and jobs policy alone had created job avenues for over 2million people.
This, he noted was something happening across the country with many of the unemployed youth landing jobs on farmlands.
On the free senior high school education policy and roll out, the Deputy Youth Organiser said many trainee teachers who are mostly youthful have had places to teach after passing out from colleges they trained at.
With the dramatic enrollment figures in public schools across the country due to the free SHS program, many helping hands in the area of both skilled and unskilled labour had been employed by schools, Mr Amo-Aidoo disclosed.
“It is instructive to note all policies of this NPP government has yielded jobs for the youth with the planting for food and jobs as well as tge Free SHS programme being the ones giving more employment avenues to the youth”, the deputy NPP China youth organiser noted.
DETERMINING FACTOR:
The Deputy China branch NPP Youth Organiser said the determining factor in the upcoming polls would be the person who can best grant the youth jobs as well as the sustenance of same.
He noted that until recently, the youth were struggling to find jobs in the public sector.
This anomaly, he posited was as a result of the bad policies of the NDC government in 2012 which led them to the International Monetary Fund(IMF) with the latter calling for a freeze in public sector employment.
The NPP under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Amo-Aidoo intimated has ensured that policies that are being implemented were job creating ones.
