Nana has antidote to Ghana’s woes –Joe Ghartey

Joe-Ghartey-Member of Parliament for Essikadu-Ketan and 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joe Ghartey says the economic mess, rising hardship, widespread level of corruption and the general despondency that has beset the nation under the rule of President John Dramani Mahama will end, if Ghanaians vote for Nana Akufo-Addo as President in the 2016.

Accompanying Nana Akufo-Addo to meet delegates from the seven Sefwi constituencies on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Juaboso, Joe Ghartey explained to the delegates that: “I was with him (Akufo-Addo) in cabinet for 4 years. If he couldn’t do it, I wouldn’t be here with him now. When we give him power, he can do the work.”

Hon. Joe Ghartey told the delegates that he has known Nana Akufo-Addo for well over 16 years, beginning 7th October 1998, when he began working with Nana Akufo-Addo in his law firm.

“I did not know him personally, but I had heard of him. I went to him after law school and after speaking with him, I knew I wanted to work with him.

“Subsequently, I worked with Nana for 7 years. I became Attorney General after Nana Akufo-Addo and the work we did in the Attorney General’s department in 8 years is there for all to see.

“People used to think the AG’s job was easy until the NDC came to power. Now we all see how difficult it is,” he added.

Hon. Joe Ghartey explained that before Nana Akufo-Addo can become President, it is incumbent on the 140,000 plus delegates of the party to vote massively for him come Saturday, October 18, so he can lead the NPP to victory in December 2016.

“We are voting on Saturday, I know where I am voting. It is power we are looking for. Let us vote ‘nicely’, and I am certain that on Saturday, by 7pm in the evening, we should have a presidential candidate and that candidate will be Nana Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo,” he said.

He continued, “Whatever humanly possible in our bid to win previous elections, Nana Akufo-Addo did. From the little I’ve seen today, I’m sure Western North will make sure we get more than one MP from this part of the country. I am sure that in 2016 we will make a difference in Western North.”
