Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng calls for platforms for knowledge transfer to the youth

Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng sharing his experiences in a hearty conversation

Veteran journalist; Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng has called on Universities and other related institutions to provide space and resources for experienced people from different backgrounds to share their experiences with the younger generation.

The former Chair of the National Media Commission was speaking on MTN’s Bright Conversations on the theme; Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng @70; Reflections on the media as a lived experience.

He explained that many experienced persons who are “retired” are willing to pass on their knowledge and experience to the youth.

He also encouraged young journalists to pursue excellence. “The quest for excellence is what drove journalism in the past and it should be the crux of the practice today” he stressed and also encouraged Ghanaian journalists to be “more adventurous, curious and think outside the box”.

Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng spoke about his journey and experiences with the practice of journalism. He explained how difficult it was to research and do other journalism-related tasks during their time. “Things are easier today with the advent of the internet. Things used to be difficult back then” he explained and advised young journalists to be meticulous and do good journalism.
