“Napo” Supplies Lecture Hall Chairs, Books To Schools In Manhyia South.
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh on Friday supplied 150 lecture hall chairs to the St Louis College of Education in Mbrom, a community within the constituency.
At the St Louis Demonstration Basic School compound, the MP also presented over 14, 000 exercise books to all Basic Schools in the constituency.
Speaking at separate venues, Dr Opoku-Prempeh said he was determined to ensure that schools within his constituency record optimum levels of achievements.
“To achieve better outcomes in education it is required of us to constantly invest and provide the needed environments to enhance teaching and learning”, the MP stated.
Principal of St Louis College of Education:
Mrs Monica Konnie Mensah, Principal of St Louis College of Education thanked Hon Opoku-Prempeh for his continued interest and support to the school.
She noted that, every year the MP visits to learn of challenges at the school.
The Principal prayed that the MP who is also Minister of Energy lobbies for the school to become an upgraded facility like other public universities.
“I on behalf of the management of this College would want to commend the efforts of our MP and urge him to do more to make both learners and authorities comfortable at the facilities we find ourselves”, Mrs Mensah stressed.
Metro Education Director:
Mr David Oppong, Kumasi Metro Education Director praised Dr Opoku-Prempeh for his excellent interest in education.
He noted that it is not surprising that even after leaving the Education Ministry, Universities and other educational institutions continue to recognise Dr Opoku-Prempeh’s modest contributions to the sector.
Mr Oppong commended Dr Napo for showing such commitment to the directorate and asked that others emulate same.
“The Metro Directorate is proud of Dr Napo and we are sure that with him as MP we will get many more investments to make teaching and learning an enjoyable venture in Kumasi”, the Metro Director posited.
