NDC doesn’t discriminate-General Mosquito fires

asiedu-nketia3The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has passionately posited the liberal attitude of the party, insisting the NDC does not discriminate against persons claiming to be Ghanaians.

According to him, unlike the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) which continues to describe some Ghanaians working outside the country as aliens the NDC rather saw every resident as Ghanaian.

Addressing a charged audience of NDC supporters and sympathizers at the first ever launch of the National Volta Caucus of the party at Fumso in the Adansi- Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti-Region, Mr Nketiah described the discriminatory tactics of the NPP as ‘backward’ and ‘negative’.

He wondered why the NPP is glad when some persons who have dual nationality registers to vote for them but expresses abhorrence when same Ghanaians who are either residents in Togo or other neighboring countries decide to do same for NDC.

TAGGING:
Mr Nketiah took a swipe at the NPP’s Vice-Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia for his constant reference to Ghanaians in Togo as aliens.

”Sometimes I get surprised with the NPP’s Bawumia who in his chosen convenience refer to Ghanaians living in Togo as Togolese or aliens but the same is not said about known NPP members who have dual citizenships”, the General Secretary wondered.

According to him, it was totally wrong for Dr Bawumia to seek to sow seeds of discord in the country and still campaign for his party to lead same.

”The actions of the NPP at best smacks of double standards since the very people they want to lead are sometimes tagged as non-Ghanaians and aliens.

SECURITY:
Speaking at the program which was also used by the NDC to publicly outdoor its parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Evans Amankwah for the Adansi-Asokwa Constituency, Andy Osei-Okrah, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister urged Volta residents in Adansi as well as elsewhere to never be intimidated by anyone in the country.

According to him, it is the right of every Ghanaian to choose whichever political party it wants to support, adding anyone who infringes on their rights will be severely dealt with.

The security agencies, Mr Okrah observed had been empowered to protect every citizen, charging them to come out in their numbers and vote for the NDC in the upcoming general  elections.

On her part, National Coordinator for the Volta Caucus and former Transport Minister, Mrs Dzifa Ativor encouraged Voltarians to vote massively for President John Mahama so as to enable him to continue with the unprecedented work he had begun in the first term of his administration.
