A group; the coalition of NDC Foot soldiers and activists have strongly expressed strongly their support for the Ashanti regional Police Commander; DCOP Kofi Boakye.
The group comprising six different groups within the NDC as well as a social group; Friends of Kumasi in a letter to the Ashanti regional Police commander revealed they would be submitting a letter to the Presidency recommending the good work of the Police Commander.
The supposed letter which will be copied to the Chief of Staff and submitted by Thursday will recommend that DCOP Kofi Boakye be maintained as Ashanti regional Police commander.
Members of the group believe their voices will be far reaching though they are not office holders within the party.
Beside the flamboyant recommendation letter, the group also plans to start a fun club in the name of the Police Commander which will be active in cleaning up the city.
DCOP Kofi Boakye has consistently been in the news this week after he alleged that his work schedule which got him working closely with former President Jerry John Rawlings nearly cost him his job because he was perceived to have had alliances with the then opposition NDC.
The NPP however dismissed the Police commander’s comments as false.
The Coalition of NDC foot Soldiers and Activists have however written a letter praising extensively the work of the Ashanti Police Commander and expressing their support for his continued stay in the region.
