The former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Yammin has hinted that the NDC government under the administration of President John Mahama is enforcing a law to ensure that the aged are being given the needed attention.
According to him Human Rights activist Nana Oye Lithur who doubles as the minister for Gender, children and social protection is currently reviewing the bill which will seek the protection of the aged when passed into law.
Hon.Yammin noted that upon enforcement of the law ,adults aged 65 and above will be entitled to free transport without paying any fare.
Such people according to him are not entitled to join any queue although there may be queues at the various lorry stations.
Speaking on Royal fm’s morning show he noted that Ghana and Africa as a whole does not give enough attention to the aged as done in the western world.
However the NDC government is creating an avenue of hope to the aged in Ghana.
