Chairman for working group on Ghana Space Policy cum Senior Lecturer and Research Scientist at the University of Ghana Dr Nana Ama Browne Klutse picked nomination forms to contest for the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency, and has successfully gone through the vetting process.
Dr Nana Ama Browne Klutse hails from Nyanfeku Ekroful in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese constituency in the central region. She was formerly a senior research scientist at the Ghana Space, Science and Technology Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission but currently a senior lecturer at the physics department of the University of Ghana.
Her academic prowess earned her a PhD in climatology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. In addition to many other portfolios, Dr Nana Ama is a consultant for both national and international projects as well as a consultant on climate change for UN, ECOWAS and AU space science.
Political activities:
Dr. Mrs . Klutse has been a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 2014 and part of the policy group drafting manifesto for the party. She is presently a member of NDC’s research team, Professional Forum (Proforum) and Progressive Intellectual (PI) at the University of Ghana.
Contributions to the party:
The Young Reasearch scientist has made several financial contributions to members of the party in the constituency where she is contesting. She has organized Capacity building programmes for branch executives in the constituency and offered financial contributions to AAK Constituency activities under the chairmanship of Kojo Arkoh. other contributions include:

• Member of delegates from Ghana with Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang under President John Mahama in the bid for the international year of light at UNESCO, Paris, France, October 2012

• Travel opportunities to members of AAK especially members of NDC Honors and Awards: In her contribution to science, she has been awarded as one of the best performing women in science in Kigali, Rwanda in February 2019. She was recognised at CORDEX 2013 – Brussels, Belgium as the Best Poster Award for Poster session 3 on Regional focus during the International Conference on Regional Climate,which took place in November 2013. In 2009, She won the UNESCO award on Basics Physics for young scientist in Accra and AMMSI Postgraduate student award – Cape Town, South Africa.
