Fulera Abdullai, Kejetia branch women organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has showered praises on the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive for being a development -oriented leader.
Speaking to this reporter in Kumasi, ‘Olumba Olumba’, as the NDC firebrand is referred to expressed confidence in Mr Ose Assibey Antwi to complete the Kejetia Re-development project on time.
According to her, the Mayor from the time he was appointed has worked to resettle old traders at places they could ply their trade.
This resettlement project, the lady noted has been done without discrimination.
‘’My brother I can stick my neck out that those who are agitating against the Mayor are people who do not trade here because some of us who are dye in wool NDC people can see the humanness in the actions of the Mayor’’, Fulera noted.
SANITATION:
According to the NDC lady, sanitary conditions have considerably improved at the Doctor Mensah portion of the market where refuse was easy to find previously.
Zoomlion and KMA workers, Madam Fulera disclosed have been prompt to evacuate waste and refuse that are dumped overnight.
This, she noted was something they rarely saw during the previous administration where heaps of refuse was seen from morning till the following morning.
‘’Sometime ago we were selling in filth and we struggled to dispose of the refuse we made at our various points of sales’’, Olumba noted.
JOBS:
Lauding the Mayor, Madam Fulera recounted how some of her friends were offered opportunity to work at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) when they Mayor took office.
These people, she mentioned used to work at FREDKO Company Limited, a local entity that managed the Kejetia terminal previously.
Madam Fulera said the Mayor despite knowing some of the people were NDC did not discriminate but gave them opportunity to work to earn a living.
She, therefore, advised those clamoring for the removal of the Mayor to rather open up and observe the progressive initiatives he has introduced to the city management.
‘’If anyone has misinformed you about what is going on at Kejetia come here and see how the Mayor has made life better for us by cleaning our environment’’, Madam Fulera advised.
