Former Deputy Ashanti regional minister Joseph Yammin has declared Ashanti region a neutral ground
for all political parties contrary to a popular believe that the region is a stronghold of the largest oppostion party; the NPP.
The NDC bigwig was being interviewed by Owusu Bempah during a political talkshow on Happy FM.
The host appeared to want to know more about how the NDC would achieve its one million votes target. He however wouldn’t allow his interviewee the opportunity to answer his questions as he repeatedly took over the interview to utter his own political thoughts and allegations against the NDC.
Joseph Yammin who would not disclose any political strategies aimed at amassing the party’s targeted one million votes seemed to have several difficulties with the interjections of the host.
Owusu Bempah was so bent on accusing the NDC of employing diabolic means towards the achievement of their vote target.
“Farmers at Asante Akyem were asked to bring their voters’ ID card to enable them receive fertilizers during which the ID cards are scanned and their ID numbers taken for diabolic reasons”, the host kept pressing.
“If you think we are unable to achieve our one million votes in the Ashanti, wait till 2016”, Yammin concluded after a pointless period of what was supposed to be an interview.
Joseph Yammin emphasized however that it is a waste of the NDC’s time to deliberate over how to steal votes from the NPP in the Ashanti region since vote stealing is unnecessary towards the attainment of the NDC’s vote target. “Gone are the days when NDC members were accused of stealing ballot boxes and arrested to prevent them from voting. This time it is one man, one vote. And we will see how the NPP will fair”, he told Owusu Bempah.
