rawgist.com fears a possible clash as groups aligned to the NDC and the NPP take to the streets for separate marches on 24th February, 2015.
Pro-NDC group, Organised Youth of Ashanti is slated to embark on its “one thousand march for President Mahama” whiles pro-NPP group; Movement for Change is also marching against President Mahama on the same date in what has become known as the “dumsor” demo.
Organised Youth of Ashanti are however accusing the regional police command of dinning with the NPP. According to a statement issued by the group, the pro-NDC group was the first to secure the date. The police is however asking them to change their date; an action they say flies in the face of fairness. To this end they insist on holding their march on the said date.
A leading member of the Organised Youth of Ashanti, Amin Ayamga tells rawgist.com they suspect foul play as the 
police seem more interested in ensuring the NPP march comes off to the detriment of the march in support of the President at whose instance they serve.
“It is the fault of the Police commander that he kept their letter in his pocket. He should acknowledge his mistake and apologize to the NPP lads for his negligence and then give them a new date for their demonstration”.
When rawgist.com asked Amin Ayamga what is being done on their part to avert any possible clash, he said they have their routes well defined with the police. “We will do our best to keep our people in check but any negative thing that happens should be blamed on the police”.
24th February seem to have taken on an important political significance with some calling it Ghana’s day of shame because Ghana saw its first coup on that day in 1966.
