Former National Vice President of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG); Ebenezer Henaku Jr. has ridiculed attempts by the largest opposition party the NDC to absolve their new running mate of complicity in the cancellation of teacher trainee allowances.
In a write-up he sent to rawgist.com, Mr. Henaku, who is also the founder of the Volunteers for Free SHS Ghana asked a series of questions that sought to portray the NDC as being inconsistent in their decisions.
He for instance sought to know if Prof Jane Opoku Agyemang as the Minister entrusted with Education under the erstwhile Mahama Government was not in support of the supposed “ presidential decision” and didn’t have an input as a Minister.
“As a principled educationist what was her stand on the issue if not assenting to same since she saw to its implementation? If she had any objections does that mean her professional recommendations were ignored ( THE PRESIDENT MADE PRESIDENTIAL DECISIONS WITHOUT RECOURSE TO RECOMMENDATIONS OF HIS OWN MINISTER)” he queried further and added that “If John Dramani Mahama did not see it fit to listen to Prof. Jane Opoku Agyemang as an educationist in this regard and a “presidential decision” was taken, will she then be listened to in the light of Economic Management and other matters now?”
Mr. Henaku believes Prof. Opoku Agyemang is only being “used” to save the face of John Dramani Mahama’s campaign only for her inputs to be ignored if she should become a Vice President as several other “Presidential Decisions” will be taken.
“Indeed let it be on record that all functionary offices and decisions of the NDC campaign had been made before the appointment of Prof Jane Opoku Agyemang. In other words she was not involved in the crafting of the Manifesto, appointments of campaign members and structures as a Vice presidential candidate. In fact she was relegated to the last decision to be made. Simplicita! SHE IS JUST AN ADDITION. Indeed usual PRESIDENTIAL DECISIONS had been made before bringing her on” he insisted.
He said on the other hand that “if Prof Jane Opoku Agyemang consented to the cancellation of the teacher trainee allowances, then there is no need for the NDC to isolate her from that decision.
“Is the NDC ashamed of that decision so much that they would want to isolate the savior from it but throw the flag bearer under the bus?”
He called on all well-meaning Ghanaians not to take the NDC serious as they are very indecisive and inconsistent in their talk and deeds.
