NEIP CEO defies President’s directive on lockdown as he canvases for votes in Ejisu

The Chief Executive officer of National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) Lawyer John Kumah Ampotuah has ignored the president’s lockdown directive to canvas for votes ahead of the NPP internal parliamentary primaries.

He was cleared by the NPP vetting committee and that gave him the green light to contest for the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries in the Ejisu constituency.

The CEO of NEIP who is a lawyer and knows the ramifications of defying the order was in Krapa electoral area to meet with the delegates at the GRNMA guest house on Monday afternoon and later met other delegates of Fumesua at his recently acquired mansion at Kokobra between 6 and 8pm.

In the President’s bid to ensure we contain the pandemic which is putting the world Economy on its knees, one would wonder the motivation of his posture.

The president on Friday Night announced some stringent measures aimed at controlling the fast spread of the COVID 19 in the country, in which the president, directed that Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi should be locked down on Monday at 1 am.

But what informed the lawyer to disobey the president’s directives to meet with the party delegates at two separate venues is best known to him.

However, his actions clearly contravene the President’s order and to make matters worse, the social distancing measure was not employed during these meeting.

We are following keenly what the Constituency and Regional leadership of the party’s decision will be.
