Ghana Health-Some youth of Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region are unhappy with the current state of the National Health Insurance Office there.
They say the office has operated without a manager since March, 2018 when the then Manager was transferred.
The Concerned Youth of Techiman also lament that only one out of 10 machines used in processing ID cards is functioning.
A press statement they issued suggests that the Techiman office is over-burdened and without serious supervision; a situation they believe is detrimental to the well being of the scheme.

WE NEED A COMPETENT, WELL QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED MANAGER AT THE OFFICE OF TECHIMAN NHIS
It has come to the notice of we the Concern Youth of Techiman that for about four months now the Techiman Municipal National Health Insurance office has no Manager taking care of the NHIS.
Per our investigations gathered by the Chairman and the Public Relations Officer for the Concern Youth of Techiman Abdul Rahman Bin-Abas and Aboagye Anthony respectively, the former Manager Appau Augustine was transferred on the 19th March, 2018 and since then there is no Manager posted to the Techiman Municipality.
Secondly, The Ten machines which were used in processing new cards and renewals is left with only one functioning now due to unqualified skilled personnels have been given additional one on Friday 13th July, 2018 with the effort of Hon. Yiadom Boakye Henry MP for Techiman South.
Furthermore, They were able to meet the target of Thirty Thousand annually in the previous years but has now reduce drastically.
Again, Apart from the Techiman NHIS serving Techiman South with the population of 126,000, they also serve places like Techiman North and near by places in Techiman South like Marso at Nkoranza then Akomandan and Afrancho in Ashanti Region.
We are therefore pleading with the highest authorities to provide a competent Manager immidiately and aslo provide qualified and experienced personnels who can operate and cooperate with the people of Techiman and beyond
