The National Labour Commission (NLC) has secured an injunction to stop Universities of Ghana Senior Staff Associations from embarking on an industrial strike.
Members of the association on Monday began a strike to protest what they describe as government’s failure to address issues regarding their condition of service.
The association, among other things, noted the migration of the payroll of public universities onto the Controller and Accountant General’s payroll system as one of its concerns.
But the court order, dated Monday, October 19, restrained the associations from embarking on their intended strike for the next 10 days.
The court also directed the association to appear before the NLC on October 28 per earlier directives.
