The electoral commission of the KNUST Students’ Representative Council says the ongoing power crisis will not affect their pending students’ elections.
In an interview on Focus FM, the KNUST SRC electoral commissioner, Essilfi Mekisedech said, his outfit has identified some polling stations with power plants and has made arrangements to provide alternative power at those without power plants.
He mentioned the College of Science, Faculty of Art and Built environment, School of Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, Faculty of law, Business school, College of engineering, GRASAG and unity hall as the very few polling stations on campus with alternative power plants.
He also identified, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Art, both new and old site, Komfo Anokye teaching hospital, republic hall, Africa hall, independence hall, Queens hall and The University hall as polling stations without alternative power sources.
He said, his outfit has made arrangements to secure fueled power plants to curb the power interruption issues that may rise on the day of election.
