The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo, has dared the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to attend the National Economic Forum and prove their mettle if they have ideas.
According to him, government can do with or without the NPP to find a lasting solution to the present socio-economic challenges in the country.
“NPP has no ideas; the formula they used when in government will not work today,” he stressed.
Kojo Twum Boafo, who was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii sen programme Friday, said the NPP is proving to be an “unelected political party”.
He explained that Ghanaians have wised up and has outgrown the NPP’s vile propaganda against the Mahama-led administration.
The Free Zones boss said the opposition party’s economic track record while in government is nothing to write home about.
“Ghanaians are not stupid; let the NPP continue the ugly noises and they will continue to remain in opposition”.
In a quick rebuttal, former National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Anthony Karbo scoffed at Twum Boafo’s assertion.
He indicated that a party said to be bereft of ideas initiated social intervention programmes like the School Feeding Programme, National Health Insurance Scheme, National Youth Employment Programme and many others of which government has inherited.
Anthony Karbo said the NPP if it decides to go to the Economic Forum will present the solution proffered by Dr. Bawumia to government.
Meanwhile, the NPP which has questioned the relevance of the forum is yet to decide whether to grace the occasion.
It maintained that government’s decision to organize the forum is an admission that it is bereft of ideas to salvage the crippling economy.
