The national volunteers Association; a group in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is appealing to the top brass of the party to come out with two polling agents to represent the party in every polling station in the country in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking in an interview with rawgist.com’s Nimrod Okyere, the founder of the group who doubles as the national chairman Dr. Kwaku Duah noted”the various polling agents who represent the party in the various polling centers tend to be more interested in the parliamentary results to the detriment of the presidential; a situation he believes costs the party the presidency.
He believes the lack of attention to the Presidential results as well as ignorance on the part of some polling agents makes it easy for the Presidential results to be trifled with.
He reveals the group is putting together documents to back their claim and convince flagbearer of the party Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to agree to the group’s demand.
“We want to have a polling agent for Nana Addo alone and another for the parliamentary candidate in the respective constituencies .He said this after a closed door meeting with some party executives in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
