MR. FRED OWARE, The former National first Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) now the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bui Power project, has hinted that, he is still undecided as far as contesting the national chairmanship position of his party is concerned.
Speaking to rawgist.com, he stated that, it was the vision of every member of the NPP that the party wins the general elections, and indeed the party with the leadership of His Excellency President Nana Akufo Addo as their candidate won the elections. He explains that he is now working in government to ensure the vision of the president for the country comes to fruition.
He says because of his new responsibilities, he is yet to decide whether he would be vying for the chairmanship position which he contested before , stressing that such a decision would be made sometime in August this year.
Commenting on the performance of the NPP government in their six months in office, he said the government has performed credibly well, considering the power stability, and expressed the hope that the government would do extremely well in a year to come as there would be improvement in all the sectors of the economy.
He indicated that, the government is still putting pragmatic measures in place to ensure that,the economy takes off, as there is stability in the system.
He says people have expressed confidence in the government and her performance, and revealed that, rural urban migration is now a thing of the past because of the hope and confidence the citizenry have in the NPP’s good governance and policies and have realized they can make it in life wherever they find themselves.
He noted that, there was a summit last month which has shown clearly that, those in the diaspora are now interested in investing in the country and are ready to register their companies; a situation that shows clearly that they have confidence in the country’s economic stability.
He entreated the youth to have patience with the government, as the indications in every sector including Agriculture, Energy, and industry show that the issue of unemployment among the youth will soon be a thing of the past.
He disclosed that, government is putting measures in place to attract investors into the country to help in the creation of jobs to absorb most of the unemployed youth in the country, adding that, the 19 million dollar loan through the Vice President Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia will help bring employment, and pleaded with the youth to be patient with government and her policies to salvage the country from the economic hardship.
