Former Flagbearer hopeful and Member of Parliament for Mampong Constituency, Hon Francis Addai-Nimoh, has said that , “out of 59 years of independence, the NPP has had the opportunity to only rule Ghana for only 10 and a half year”. Adding that, ” in the party’s last 8 years of its rule, Ghana has witnessed ever, a monumental transformation in all its facets under the distinguished leadership of His Excellency President John Agyekum Kufour.”
The renowned civil engineer of high repute , spoke these words over the weekend, in a fund raising event at the Amenfi East constituency in the Western Region as part of his unrelenting campaign to bring the NPP and Akufo-Addo back to power. Hon Addai-Nimoh specified that, the NPP inherited a regressed economy in 2000 from the NDC, however , in a spate of 8 years of democratic rule, the NPP under the excelling leadership of President John Agyekum Kufour made Ghana a shining example for the rest of the world . He indicated that, “NPP is the only political party noted for good governance” and that it was during the NPP regime where Ghana felt massive infrastructure development, revitalization of the private sector, implementation of a robust austerity measures which boosted investor confidence and positioned Ghana as a perfect destination for Foreign Investors and as well, Ghana became the beacon of democracy due to the strive for tolerance unity and peaceful coexistence
The soft spoken legislator Hon Addai Nimo who has been described by many sections of the public as a unifier on account of his consistent call for unity of purpose and diversity was the guest speaker for the fund raising event in the Amenfi East constituency. Addai-Nimoh noted with historical antecedents, the electoral trend in the Amenfi East constituency to the appreciation of party members present. He indicated that, the NPP held the parliamentary seat for three consequetive times until in 2012, where the party lost it to the NDC owing to seeming disunity and unresolved dispute within the constituency as at that time. He noted again with caution “we need unity to win this seat and to garner popular votes for our Presidential candidate in the upcoming elections”
Speaking on that occasion, Hon Addai-Nimoh set the theme for the occassion as “Arise for Change” noting that, Change can only take place when we rise to the task and put in our collective efforts selflessly. He admonish the Parliamentary candidate for the constituency Patrick Kwame Sey to not do anything that was likely to jeopardize the quest for unity but rather he should strive to create a conducive and a tolerant atmosphere that will bring everyone on board for the task ahead which is winning the parliamentary seat and ultimately, the Presidential elections for the New Patriotic Party ; for in unity lies strength . Hon Addai-Nimoh commended the constituency executives for setting up a new constituency office and motivated them to give off their best towards achieving the ultimate ambition of the NPP in the Amenfi East constituency.
Hon Addai-Nimoh, contributed a sum of Ghc 2000 as part of his efforts to see a prosperous Ghana under an NPP administration with NPP Amenfi East constituency shining again. This relentless effort by Hon Addai-Nimoh comes to add up to series of activities he has undertaken in several other constituencies as part of his commitment to see the NPP win the 2016 elections, such as Bia West, Bia East, Juaboso, Akotonbra, Amenfi Central, Sehwi Wiawso, Ablekuma Central, Manso-Adubia to mention few.
