The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party has blamed the party’s endless internal wrangling on external forces.
According to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, some elements within the NPP are being influenced to foment trouble in the party.
The NPP has been bedeviled with leadership crisis for some time now leading to the suspension of national chairman Paul Afoko and his spokesperson Nana Yaw Osei.
Speaking to party supporters in the UK, Nana Addo tasked party members to pray for the party and assured the saboteurs will be fished out.
He also added that most of the issues reported by the media are exaggerated.
“I know many of you are concerned about the internal wrangling in our party, we are doing our best to bring sanity and peace. You can also help, don’t inflame the situation from afar. We should spend our energies on the disastrous Mahama administration…our task is easier if we are together”.
“I want to urge you not to be de-spirited about what you hear on the internal wrangling, much of it is exaggerated, and we now have good reason to believe a lot of it is being instigated from outside the party, if we make a determined effort to stick together we would come out strong”.
Meanwhile, spokesperson for the suspended national chairman Paul Afoko, Nana Yaw Osei has also been suspended.
The Ashanti regional executives of the party have accused Nana Yaw Osei of masterminding the recent protest at the party’s headquarters against the suspension of his boss.
