The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser Nana Ama Ampomah together with the National Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Kate Abena Gyamfuah on Monday, the 19th July, 2020, toured some registration centres in the Ashanti Region to observe the ongoing voter registration exercise.
They were accompanied by the former NPP-UK Branch Women’s Organiser, Jennifer Boadi, the Operations Director of the National Women’s Wing, Hannatu Mbye, the Operations Director of the Ashanti Regional Women’s Wing, Mama China and the former Subin Constituency Women’s Organizer, Abigail Wood.
They monitored the ongoing exercise at the electoral areas and registration centres in the Mampong Constituency after which they paid a courtesy call on the Member of Parliament of the constituency, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong.
They held some discussions with him, and also commended him for the satisfactory work done as far as the registration exercise is concerned.
The team proceeded to the Kwabre East Constituency, and with the support of the Member of Parliament, Hon.Francisca Oteng, they visited the registration centres in the constituency as well.
They then moved to the Ejura Constituency, and with the assistance of the constituency executives, they monitored the registration process at the various centres.
Nana Ama Ampomah, Kate Abena Gyemfua and the team ended the tour at the Afigya Sekyere East constituency. They were received by the Constituency Executives after which they were led to some polling stations to monitor the registration exercise.
They observed and appreciated the peaceful nature of the exercise at all the centres and constituencies they visited and therefore commended the Electoral Commission as well as the party agents for ensuring that the Covid-19 protocols are observed accordingly.
