Political Scientist at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,Dr.Edward Brenya says he is not surprised by the defeat of the NPP in the just ended Talensi by-elections.
According to him, the candidate of the NPP defected from the NDC to the NPP. He however urged the NPP to learn from the just ended election.
He was speaking in an interview with Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako on Royal fm’s morning show.
Dr.Edward Brenya opines that the by-election could however have been an opportunity for the NPP considering the present state of the economy and the frequent power outages.
He believes the present results from the by-election is a reflection to the 2016 general polls; adding that “Mahama’s statement of Talensi’s by-election being a rehearsal for 2016 elections may be fulfilled”.
He advised the opposition NPP to desist from having individual interests and concentrate on matters of party interest. “This will bring the party closer to winning power” , he noted.
